Won't need low grit as shown in first pic. Just an example and handy for stripping gaskets etc. I use the DocaDisc all the time on a number of projects. Pic 3. Very handy. You can end up with practically a mirror finish if you wanna spend a little time. No hp gains however I understand what your up to.

That's pretty much the reason I went after my chambers, and I just enjoy putting nice pieces together. But with that said, I've never heard of anyone solving detonation issues with chamber polishing. It seems to be a pretty nil issue in the big scheme of things.
