Default Can you Change Corsa exhaust flap at closed position?

I have Corsa switchable exhaust, but as most I have seen, mine is opposite and “closed” in the OFF position.

So basically I have to turn the exhaust ON every time I used boat (b/c of course I have to have it LOUD!!)
I was looking at some repair parts and it looks like I might be able to change them to the “ON” position while OFF?

In looking at the parts, the flap holes on the shaft are off set on either side. For example if you hold the shaft with the lever (that is pulled by the solenoid) in the 12 o’clock position, 1 side faces 2 o’clock and the other 10 o’clock.
My thoughts are that if I remove the exhaust and change side. Put P shaft in S exhaust and vv, then it will change my exhaust to OFF and OPEN? I tried to draw it below if that makes sense.

Any one do this or take one apart before??

I was in the boat yesterday looking at this thru the rear exhaust.

Looks like it should work.

So whats the easist way to take off the corsa? Looks like this is going to be a big job with twins.

Take exhaust tips out? Any tips?

Yours is different with them being in closed position if OFF state, but I use to take mine off and was by loosening all the clamps and slide the boots away the best you can

Yep, apparently they stopped doing it this way, but i think i can make it work.
Were the boots stuck to the pipes?
Thanks, Richie

Yes, some more then others, but a hose pick or thin screw drive would break them free

Still have my old ones sitting on the shelf

Choroszucha emailed me back yesterday, he said my version of diverters are missing a pin that holds the open flap. I may take one out to look at it and see if I can weld one in. Our depending how hard it is to remove I may scrap the project and just deal with it

Your switch must be different than mine. My switch can stay in the "on" position, so solenoids get power and flaps are open as soon as the key is turned on.
Might be easier to just change out your switch.

Yep, your probably right. I actually did that before with a on/Off relay but it lasted a year and corroded. I may have to go back down that road and just find a better way to waterproof it.

When I ordered a set of diverters from Corsa some years back, they made sure to point out that the diverters would be in the closed position without power being applied to the solenoid. I wanted the opposite setup (open without power) as I intended to use the closed position only around docks, etc. The power being applied to the solenoid would be seldom and not for long period of times. My thought was that it would keep the solenoids from burning up. I opted for the “upgrade” (open without power) which of course came with an up charge $$

FWIW
