I've been curious about how this turned out as well . I actually asked Scott Porter about this boat when I saw him at the Annapolis boat show. My impression is that he wasn't thrilled with it compared to a Volvo diesel powered 400ss although he did say he thought the owner was happy with it. He talked about the Duramax combo having some turbo lag and maybe a harder time getting on plane vs the Volvo supercharger / turbo combo they normally use? I'd love to hear more about the boat also. Info on it seems to be scarce. I think someone that posts here is friends with the owner?

Was formula actually putting this boat together? For some reason I thought it was some guy or some shop and an older boat... I can't find the original thread.

The boat is up here in Michigan. The owner wasn’t to thrilled with the performance coming from a 525 boat previously. Between the time and money it took to do the conversation, I doubt it will be done again. The one thing he is very happy with is the fuel mileage, much better than gas obviously.

Member thp500s now has a 400SS with twin Volvo diesels; and coming from several performance boats including a pumped up 382, he's thrilled with the boat, performance, and fuel mileage.

I saw some build pics of the Duramax boat. Zero I mean Zero access to anything. Pull engine to replace batteries, work on head pump, access autopilot pump, bleed steering, clean bilge. Very not practical.
