Supercharger and intercoolers
#1
There was a thread in the last week or so that had a couple clean supercharger and intercooler setups. I noticed that there was a setup that was supercharged but no intercooler. This got me wondering, can you run a Procharger/Vortech without an intercooler?
I can't find the thread to save my a$$...

Here's a datalog from a recent run.
I have the intercooler water coming off my crossover, so MAY be a bit cooler if I had a dedicated pickup.. ..
Lake was about 78 degrees IAT went from 118 to 151 in 55 seconds WOT 11 PSI.....

That's what I was thinking. I thought they created a lot of heat. Your running a decent amount of boost, I was wondering how hot the air gets in the in the 4-7psi range. Good looking setup you have their.

I ran my boat for 5 years with non intercooled Vortech superchargers while I took care of my outdrive problems , Last year when I installed my intercoolers my boat gained 6mph , so I will say that you can run them without intercoolers but your performance will suffer .

I have zero experience with blowers, but I can tell you that given our nature to tinker, go for broke now and do all of your set up and rigging just once and live happily ever after. I’ve spent more weekends and money redoing what I thought was good enough for now.
From what ive read if you run a large blower with low boost the intercooler isn’t necessary, but soon enough you’ll want every mph available and rigging an intercooler later can be a pita.
