Hello
I'm building two 632 CI chevy motors for a 30 foot checkmate.
looking for guidance on painting the engine.
always thought a yellow engine might look cool - however that might show oil and look dirty all the time?
i sandblasted nice aluminum valve covers down to bare aluminum - what's the best process to cover these - any thoughts on powder coating?
Nice new intake manifolds bare aluminum - should I paint these?
seems like a nicely painted engine could be periodically sprayed down with engine degreaser and clean up nicely unlike one with rough bare aluminum surfaces?
nice new aluminum cylinder heads -should I paint these - the exterior?
bottom line what color would say I'm a bad ass power plant!

Like everything else, prep is everything. Make sure it is clean, use a self etching primer and quality paint. I am a fan of powder coat on valve covers and intake manifolds. I haven't seen paint stick to Aluminum heads very well. Anodized valve covers are the best looking I have seen.
