Good luck finding them. You may want to check out the Formula SR1 group on Facebook.

On a side note the 242 SS was a sit-down boat while the 242 LS had the option of bolsters. Attaching points were installed in some 242 LS boats so that bolsters could be added. I don't think this was a consideration on the 242 SS. The bolsters are thru-bolted to a bracket under the floor; you'll need to duplicate this to properly attached the bolters. You don't want them lag-bolted. The attaching point will be above the gas tank into the removable part of the floor.

If you need the legs or the side brackets, I may consider selling the spares that I have for my 311.

Glanamy242 put bolsters in his 86 242ss. It required some modification because of the deck locker. Might hit him up for pictures of his install. Good luck. Good boat.

Is it possible to install adjustable heights seat posts instead of going the bolster route?

Really depends on what you’re trying to accomplish so try the boat. An offshore boat running in bigger water will be more comfortable and safer feeling with bolsters. You can probably get bolstered seats to sit on a pedestal, but you won’t be able to stand within the confines of the bolster (typical for rough water running).

Sit-down seating is an option, too, but to do it right can get really expensive.
