Default Engine cradle

This is nothing new and you can buy them, but I've wanted one for a while and now that I've started getting into my new engine build I build a new engine cradle. The engine stands are great but when you have to make new brackets for oil cooler and heat ex changers you need to be able to bolt stuff of and be able to run your new hose locations. Quite pleased how it turned out lol.

Look great and heavy duty. Good job. You going to drill some holes and make some brackets you can remove and install quickly to support the rear for shop floor test runs?

Could probably use same square stock with a some triangular 1/8" wings for the lower block bolts and a plate welded to the bottom of your vertical supports. Just gotta make sure you have room for flywheel.

No I'm not a welder by trade............I'm a Volvo Penta technician by trade lol but have been welding for 30 years now, my hobby and passion is designing and building two race engines. I got well known for my exhausts and been very fortunate in my 30 years of two stroke tuning to have worked with some great people all over this amazing planet we live on.

Reminds me of when I built my piston pin remeovel press. I could have easily purchased one realatively inexpensive but got it in my head I had to build one with most of which steel I had laying around. Only thing I purchased was a bottle jack and some springs. Turned out great and twice the duty of the ones you see for sale. I'll send you a pic sometime. I just like applying myself and building things. Welding is fun also. My 240 volt Lincoln wire feed pretty much took over my stick welder unless it comes to big offsite jobs. Plasma cutter was another great addition years ago.

A friend of mine out west has a collection of Vintage 2 stroke street rockets. Most are H2’s but he has a half dozen RD’s and I think Cagivas. I know this is a tight circle of guys so you may have crossed paths with him? Tom Landon? Just curious. Nice fab work and I share your choice of the TIG torch.
