Talking Great Boat Debate

My buddy can not understand why I have Scarab 33 AVS. My family boats in the SF bay and has a blast. We overnight in it with my kids. (80 MPH)

My buddy states that a cabin cruiser would make a whole lot more sense as it is bigger and more comfortable, more roomy, easier to sleep, entertain etc and only give up a little performance.

He cannot see the compromises being worth going to an Offshore boat.

I LOVE GOING FAST reason enough for me but I am interested in opinions.

Your buddy is trying to bring logic into a subject that's all about passion.

Many people mistake their own opinions as fact. Every person on the bay with a different boat then he has, has a different opinion then he has.

Tell him you own a fast yacht. There is no established minimum length for a yacht.

I boat on SF bay also; your buddy is just tired of you hanging out on Angel Island, etc. for a half a day having fun with your children while waiting for him to finally show up in the cruiser LOL.

Love cruisers, used to be a cruiser guy but my boating changed so I've gone go fast, albeit entry level. If my situation changes I could go back to a cruiser, a CC or even a toon but one thing I'll never do is buy a blow boat! Never understood how so many people like sailing, just bizarre........!
