Default Fuel filter

I have the s3232tul fuel filters on my TopGun. Do I have to replace with same s3232tul's or can I use the s3232 instead?

the S3232 TUL is UL listed and USCG approved as Racor had that end all tested and stamped. for all I/O s and inboards.

The S3232 only is NOT UL listed nor USCG approved for an I/O - inboard marine filter. Many use the this S3232 for outboards as they can buy it a tad cheaper.

IF I WAS YOU I BUY THE S3232 TUL to keep your insurance coverage just in case something happened. NOT worth the 5 to 10 bucks savings

How I know all this is because I carry these exact filters and have to install the S3232 TUL on all my customers boats because I have HUGE liability carrying a marine dealer LIC and boat sales. - Yes I have to follow many marine applied standards because of the liability. and that applies to marine dealer LIC

Or because the TUL filter says "The TUL is listed as the replacement filter for the aluminum base/inboard/below deck approved filter" And the non YUL says "Clear Bowls: Use for outboard and above deck installations. ."

the clear see thru plastic bowls are not for I/O s or inboards but can be used for outboard engine apps. the metal bowl and the plastic bowl fit both filters. My info comes straight from racor plus I keep tabs on whats USCG approved or not, especially Starters and Alternators.

Racor had the testing done with the TUL s and METAL bowls. It is UL listed like I said. The NON TULS and plastic bowls are not UL listed.

For servicing boats I go thru about 20 to 30 per year of these exact filters the TUL . . The FST filters will mount up as well.

The Volvo DPX engines came with S 3232 TUL and so does a few handful cabin cruiser boats for a jist of info
