Default XR VS SSM v or iv

we are building a 35 motion with 2 525's was wondering which way would be the safer and most cost effective way for racing. i know the SSM's rob about 25% of power but i am told they are stronger but the XRS are easier to deal with as we dont need gear boxes. Just looking for some advice.

thanks

A well built XR with a steel tower and upgraded gears with an IMCO lower should work...........the Bravo shop or All American drive service

In that case, go with xr’s. If you break a 4 or 5 you may not be able to fix it during the season.

Once you go transmission you`ll never want a bravo drive ever again.

if you are going to race I would not waste time on bravo's. when we ran supercat light we ran 525's and bravo's, we had to replace pinion gears every race and gimble rings every few races. that was all they would last running hard on a cat. most everyone went to 6's to avoid the failures, in the end the 6 was cheaper than constantly rebuilding bravo's. if you cant swing 6's then with that power a set of 4's or 5's would last all season with just oil changes. I have a set of 4's from a triple boat that only have 36 hours on them in the classifieds if you are interested in going that route.
