Default Oil Temp sender on a 496 Mag

I just recently bought a baja 30 outlaw with 496 mags in it. The oil temp gauges don't seem to be working. Anyone know where the senders are located on the 496 mags? (Not the HO if it makes a difference)

Could use a serial number to verify but the temp sender (item 7) is on the crossover pipe

That's the water temp sensor.

The 8.1 package from Merc did not include an oil temp sender. Many builders had oil temp gauges that were not hooked up. Verify if the gauges are even wired.

It looks like I have the oil temp sender "T"d off the back of the block with the oil pressure sender. I guess the oil pressure sensor is down on the side of the block near the oil filter boss. I'm not sure what one (sensor or sender) is for the gauge or the alarm. But I do know that the oil temp sender/sensor is on a T with the oil pressure sender on the back of the block. So they are hooked up and the gauges moved to 140 (the lowest measurement) after running for an hour. Seems really low to me. Not sure if this is the best location for them. Both gauges reading the same.

All the 2004-2006 30 Outlaws, the oil temp gauges were not connected from the factory. 2007 up they were connected. We have 2004-2008 30 Outlaws with 8.1's and the only ones with this connected is my 2007 and a friends 2008.
