Sabre Marine 28 Cyclone
#1
I have read through the Sabre boat threads ( alot of them but not all) and tried searching but can't find much on the new boats they are building, I have been without a boat for a couple years now and it's time to get back in. There are no NADA values for this boat or any new Sabre Marine boat in their line up, there are other manufacturers listed using the Sabre name but none list the boat or are Sabre Marine/Sabre Boats. How do I go about valuing this boat?? would the BUC book have it? If any have a BUC membership and this boat is listed let me know and I will get a 6 month membership which doesn't cost too much.
I don't want to do a full survey if the value of the boat isn't close to what they are asking that's just flushing $600-$800 down the drain. What are your thoughts on long term value on a manufacturer that has not built many boats yet? I don't get attached to my toys and I know it will go up for sale eventually and the next guy will likely have the same issue I do.
If you have ever driven or rode in one PM me your experience we moved to the LOTO area and now instead of having to drag my boat 8 1/2 hours here we now are 40 minutes away. I'm a lot older now and am going for a smaller boat that will fit in my current storage area, easier for me to clean, etc. and no more weekend boating on LOTO for me, I plan on any day from Monday till Friday afternoon and then run back home!
Thanks in advance

That 28 is an amazing boat I Spec built it with Doug for the Miami boat show. I sold it to the owner of purple Haze (another 28 saber, he also owned team Kansas boat at one time, he then built the 28 ob boat) I currently own the 34 with 725 ilmor's. Great rough water boat, and its fast and handles like a go Cart on rails. It will be hard to find a buc/nada number just because not many built and they do not seem to change hands to often. Your Best option may be to have Doug write something up for the value of the boat.

I had a quite a few hours in the 2015, west michigan offshore runs...... I also ran purple haze and raced in wave hippie (team kansas). All Sabers are built like a brick house, it will get you home when the wave kick up. there are no creaks ,groans.... the hull and deck are glass together, bulkhead glassed 360 degrees...... there is no glue holding anything together on the sabers. Doug has a passion/obsession of building Sabers. I've done 4 builds with him, and when i say build I was laminating with him, rigging....... My Family loves our 34, just a larger version on the 28. He could build you one any way you like, which is rare these days.
