Default Cool Fuel 3 Reliability

Hello,

I have a 05 496ho with 500 hours. I’m having the cool fuel cover replaced under warranty (not labor) because of the flaking paint.I was wondering if I should replace the whole module which costs 1,200.00. My thinking is if I replace the fuel pumps now I may avoid having a problem at a later time.

My dealer says he hasn’t heard of the fuel pumps going bad on these motors. I plan on keeping my boat for a long time. Is there a expected life span of the fuel pumps? If there isn’t then maybe I should wait to see if something happens in the future?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
