Default Bravo 1 help

Hi, my bravo 1 seized last week I got a rebuilt. There were only 2 gaskets on the drive a rectangular sorta gasket and one around the shift cable. What prevents water from seeping in around the 6 bolts mating point? There was no gasket there

The other round o ring is a thin one where the remote gear lube port mates.

Thanks for your help. But now at the putting the drive back on moment, I checked the coupler to he sure it wasn't screwed up when my old drive seized. I think this is bad , but im not a mechanic. The splines are triangular not square ,Is it usable for another month or needs changed now?

Are they splines sharp???
Either way, unless you have time to pull engine and replace the coupler, I'd put it together and use it. Worst case is coupler goes out
