Default Piston ring and cylinder finish webinar

There has been a few discussions here about cylinder wall finishes and ring sealing so I thought I would post a link to a seminar that Rottler is giving tomorrow. If anyone is interested all you have to do is sign up.

By the way they have the date wrong at the top of the page so scroll down

Thx for posting. I signed up but had a work meeting pop up last min. Thought there would be a link to view presentation later but didn't see one in my email notification.

That would have been good to see too bad ... a machine shop I worked at once had an old Sunnen book that was a great resource on finishes, ring face types and etc. Would be nice to have as a reference.

If you go to the original page that I linked to there is a spot right below the "register" button that you can click on and watch all of the previous webinars. Not sure how long it takes before the current webinar gets posted there, might take a few days.

I watched it and it was pretty interesting how boost pressure and fuel can determine the surface finish. When they post the recorded version I will post it here.

Finally got to watch the recording. Good presentation and very knowledgeable guys. Usually have machine shop hone cyls while its there but still good to know.
The variations in block hardness was an interesting point. I didn't realize there was that much difference between the older and newer blocks. Also, never even considered hardness variations from cyl to cyl.
