Sorry you took the video to heart, but lets think about your question for just a second:

a) Marlin boats went out of business in 1989, They barely had any info when they were built, let alone 30 years later.
b) You are looking for information on a forum that is established for performance boats. ie: The boat you are asking a question about is clearly NOT a performance boat.
c) If you are looking for a manual on a Mercury motor, then that is easily accessible for Mercury or any Mercury authorized dealer in the country. from mercury direct: https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/...ers-resources/

So please if this was a serious post, let me apologize for the misunderstanding on our end, because I am guessing 99.9% of us thought your post was the joke.

I've been around a fair while and I've owned my share of things , some new and some 2nd hand but from what I've seen on a few boat forums is a mistaken belief that boats are like cars and they come with owner's manuals.
As an example my popz has owned 5 boats in his lifetime (only one was 2nd hand) the last one being a half million $ sportfisherman from one of the world's premiere builders. Not one of them came with an owners manual but 2 of them , including the last one , came with a brief case stuffed with the manuals of all the equipment that was installed in the boat .
What are some people looking for , a booklet on how to maintain and drive their boat ? I dunno .

Bajaholic, no I didn’t take the video ‘to heart’ I’m not a flower. Thanks for the reply but let me reiterate…
I joined this group because it is named ‘offshoreonly’ not ‘performance boats only’.
I only joined because a few years ago someone else had asked the exact question I had but it made me join the group to see the answer and I couldn’t find it in all the millions of posts. So I asked the question again. Sorry if it’s off point.
No I don’t need info on a Mercury or Johnson motor. I need to get specs on the boat so I can get rid of this POS swim step and install something else, hopefully a stock one that came with the boat. But I don’t know if this boat even came with an original swim step because I don’t have the specs. Plus I want to drill some holes and it would be nice if I knew what was behind the panel first.
I tried to delete the post after being told that I WAS IN THE WRONG GROUP.. I get it. It won’t let me delete tho.

Madbouyz I need to find specs on the boat. That’s all. I’m not looking for info on how to maintain it. For example, gas tank size, did it come with an original swim step that I can find in an online parts store? If so what size is it in case I need to order something aftermarket. What were the interior color options for that boat?
you know…**** to look at instead of guessing.

Just an FYI, "Offshore" refers to offshore powerboat racing, not just going offshore on a boat. Just in case you were wondering.

Is there any way to access the gas tank , assuming it's under the floor , or under the console as is pretty common in smaller center consoles ? If you can get a glimpse of it you might be able to see the manufacturer's tag with the specs on it .
As for the swim step/ladder it's unlikely they had one specially made for them. You ought to be able to find either an exact replacement or something you like better browsing any of the marine hardware outlets or their catalogues . If you don't have tabs on the boat and the battery isn't mounted right up against the transom you'll probably be in the clear to drill for a new one.
