Default ATECO Engines in IL...

Thinking about repowering my 38 Scarab AVS......currently have 502 MPI's and saw the ad for 502-540 conversion/upgrade.
Seems like a really great way to go and Bill was very nice to answer may questions.....anyone have any advice or issues about them?

Ad is in the Classifieds section (Engines) they seem to do really good work~

Thanks in advance!

I have a buddy that has his engine there now. We will see, I have looked at the HP500EFI conversion and wondered about them but don't know anyone that has tried it yet.

Bill rebuilt my 454 engine few years ago. We did mild upgrades, Daytona Marine ignition, aluminium heads, etc. Ended up with 530HP. Not bad for 454 that started at around 300hp. I am sending him a lot of work from my car shop. He is very experienced with Marine engines and did some crazy builds before. He is offshore enthusiast. you are in a safe hands with them for sure. Timing might be a problem, he is usually really busy.

Supposedly there is a guy in the Baton Rouge area that rebuilds marine engines and is really good. I believe several guys on here have used him. Let me see if I can find his contact info.

Since your in Kemah, have you contacted Victory Marine they are close by in Dickinson? I bought a drive from them several years ago and was told their engine work was solid.
