Default Donzi Trim Tab Gauge Frame

Need some help or advice. I have a 2006 Donzi 38ZR and want to replace the original Livorsi trim tab stainless steel frame (goes around the tab indicators). I want to do this because mine is starting to corrode and it looks horrible and I have a new frame to replace it. Has anyone ever done this? Livorsi said you need to watch out for the springs and boxes falling out when you remove it. Could anyone do this or not really? I believe you have to remove the dash panel to get to it. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

Its no fun to do, but depends on ease of access and yes you need to be careful, because the springs and indicator pins can shoot out. The trick is to use an unbent paperclip to hold the indicators and springs in place.
Part #22 and 24 have as small pin hole in them to put the paperclip through to hold them in place. https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/...2057/11851/105

Thanks so much for the info and picture! So you stick 2 paper clips through the two pin holes then unbolt the frame from behind?

After looking more at the pic, I think I figured out what your saying. Basically you would stick one paper clip through 22 and 24 at the same time. Does the back L shape main frame support the spring and indicator on the backside (keeps it in place)? And the plexiglass keeps it from popping outward?
