Default Bravo 3 upper gears

Hi, I lost forward gear under way. I got the boat out too the rear cap off. Looks like it’s selecting forward gear but when I spin the prop, the brass ring and clutch spin but the toothed gear doesn’t. Does this mean I have broken the floor out the forward gear?
thanks

The bump ring attaches to the clutch cup portion of the gear, they move as one, if the clutch and bump ring are moving together and the gear isn’t, I’m guessing the clutch cup has sheared off of the driven gear.

I had that happen once, it was due to a crack between a drive gear tooth that went clear through the gear and would cause gear flex

yeah what I mean, is the bronze ring and the “cone” it’s attatched to that the clutch sits in, spins freely to the cog with the teeth. The toothed bit doesn’t move but the rest does. Is that normal?

The upper and lower gear you show are mated to the gear on the input yoke, they spin when the engine is running.
