Hi, I have a situation with my HP 500s having a faint engine alarm and dim warning light on my Hustler 388 with the ignitions on and when running, it’s happening with both engines. I have tested all the warning sensors and when tested the alarms go to full volume and the lights fully light. I’m thinking it’s a weak ground somewhere and wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem before I fully dive in. Thanks

I have the same issue with the starboard engine. I bought it like that and the previous owner unhooked the alarm. The light is so faint you can’t tell during the day. When something is wrong, the light does work correctly. I have looked into it before and could not find the problem. Started at the light. Found some wiring diagrams but it’s been so long ago I forgot what I checked. I look at my dash so much I don’t need an alarm but I do like my things to be right so I’m following.

The warning horn / light should have constant 12V power with key on, and receives a switched ground when conditions are met to require a warning. So you probably have something wonky on the ground leg... at least that's where I'd start looking.
