What is the correct Service Manual for a Gen VI 500HP Carbureted Motor? Thanks in advance.

1996 and up was Gen 6. #3 for Carb. Getting year correct is key.

I have the #3 Service Manual. I do not see any reference to the Gen VI. Ex; Timing cover only has 6 bolts, what is the torque. Are all the bearing and ring tolerances the same on the Gen VI as the the Gen V? Thanks for the input.

The date on your copy of manual #3 is before 1996 probably.

Yes it is. I need a newer version that covers the GenVI. Anybody out there have one they don't need anymore? PM me. Or text, 816-eight 0 four, 63 one one.

The only difference to a gen 6 is the timing cover.

There's a lot of other differences between a Gen V and Gen VI motor. Are you just saying what the difference is with the pre and post dated manual?

The more I read in the #3 manual the more is missing. There is nothing in there about the knock sensor and the module behind the rev limiter. Any tech's out there? What do you reference when working on these engines? Still looking for a #3 manual that covers these Gen VI motors. Will stop by one of the shop locally on Friday and see if I get an answer.

Your manual was probably printed before the TB V ignitions came out.
