A few weeks ago I posted that the local dealer I have worked with on three boats had lost the Baja line.
The salesman I have been dealing with assured me that they had an agreement with Baja and would be handling all warranty issues on all new boats they had sold through next year.
Since I had a few issues that needed to be taken care of off season this was good news.
Well, I had left voice mail, sent e-mails and was not hearing anything from this guy. I drive over there Saturday and they are OUT OF BUSINESS. Call their other branch about 40 miles away and they inform me that they are no longer "Baja" and my buddy has been fired.
I have reached an age where this stuff just does not bother me much anymore. I know I will get things taken care of, and in a few years from now, who really cares, right?
Well, I picked up the phone Monday morning and called Baja in Bucyrus. They immediately put me in touch with the warranty department, showed my name and boat information up on the computer and asked how they could help me.
I explained about the dealer and they were very understanding. Took all the details of what needed to be done and advised they would call back. I received a call back shortly asking a few questions and giving me some options. Then I received another call and they had everything set up for me. I was very impressed at their immediate attention to this matter. They made me feel like I was important to them and that they were really concerned about taking care of the problems I have and making the repairs as easy for me as possible.
The bottom line is that I can take the boat to any Baja or Sea Ray dealer. This may seem strange to some, but I have made a good friend in Jacksonville, FL who is the Sea Ray shop supervisor at Port Jackson Sea Ray. I have purchased parts from him and have found him to be very helpful with information as needed. I called him and he was very willing to help me out with this matter.
I like dealing with some one I know and that really wants to take care of me, and not just make a few bucks, send me packing and probably never deal with them again.
So Baja approved this, Port Jackson is ready and waiting for the boat and I get to go back to Florida for a nice long weekend to deliver the boat to them.
I just hope the weather is nice when we go back to pick it up so we can do some boating before we have to return!
Thank you Baja.

Glad to hear you have a resolution as well as peace of mind. I don't think it is strange that you are taking the boat to Florida. If that is what gives you your "peace" by all means do it brotha!
When are you going back to pick it up? I need a winter boat ride/thrill so that I have a peace of mind about a 36 Outlaw someday

Mark...remember we talked about this about two months ago...I had been told then that the dealership had been pulled by Baja and the nearest dealer would be Shadrack Watersports in Bristol, Tennessee. Anyway I was not sure all that would happen but it sounds like it did.Glad to hear you got it worked out, but remember Shadracks does a great job for me should you ever need anything...The owner is Keith Glover should you ever need him...Feel free to e-mail me if you need more information.

Thank you for the reminder. I am glad to hear that they are there and their service is good. Over the winter I might get up there and talk with these guys and establish a relationship.
I know the guy in Florida and frankly was looking for another reason to go back down there.
Thanks again

Maybe you, Mark, and Velocity Mike should start one.

I can only hope they are. This is a big market and there are already a lot of Baja's here on Lake Norman and Blews Lake.
I think Baja has outsold all other brands with Fountain in close second and Formula third in this area.
Maybe those guys at Shadrack want to expand over here.
The guy that was fired told me they did $1 Million last year with Baja. I do not know how true this is, but that is what he told me and he said that was 50% of their new boat business.
Take care

I think if you, me, VelocityMike, and Mark in So. MD pooled all our money we could barely afford to drive down to there much less open a dealership.
