motor cutting off at idle, will run at anything above 2K but quits at idle. I suspect its not programmed for the 5.7merc

That sounds a lot more like an IAC issue

Have you scanned it for codes??

agreed.

id scan it first unless you knowingly replaced the ECM and are now having problems…
