Default Block oil bypass vs filter bypass

Does anyone know the relationship between these 2 bypasses? I mean if you are running a 30lb block bypass valve, will it open before the filter bypass would, or vice versa? Or perhaps it varies significantly based on the filter manufacturer?

If it is on an MPI motor, the 30 lb bypass valve in the block is likely always open a bit bleeding hot oil into the motor due to the crappy remote oil system they had. I can't believe the oil pressure I gained when I ditched that stock system and put a real oil system on. Went from 32/35 psi HOT WOT to 52/55 psi HOT WOT. Turns out my bearings weren't loose, the oil system was just that terrible.

Thanks guys for the assistance. I've increased my oil cooler size and went with -10AN hoses and have good oil pressure like you mentioned you experienced.
