The all white Cougar that I think you are referring to used to be in Connecticut. I used to see (and hear) it all the time... it was a really nice boat! Its been a long time since Ive seen it, but it still looks nice in the pics...I bet that Cougar will handle the rough just as good if not better then a flat bottom Gun. As far as speed goes, its probably alittle slower than a flat botton Gun(if thats even possible!!!) as I think its the heavier boat. The Cougar is built like a Sherman Tank!!!! They are notoriously heavy. If the boat is still as clean as it looks, I wouldnt hesitate to jump on it..... although,The resale of a Cigarette is hard to beat!

Hi Kevin - I would agree with the resale as mentioned however I’m not really thinking about that much as it’s an old used boat that I’d be looking to throw my current power and trannies in and go. If I knew of a cig in same condition and price I wouldn’t hesitate. When we get through the next 2-3 years I can re-evaluate my spending on a boat. I refuse to finance so just trying to keep at an affordable level. My 12m was gonna be a winter project and wanted to be on the water this summer.
There’s another question ride vs ride. 12m vs 38 cougar. Hogie - I flip flop on the deck design. I like it and I don’t if that makes any sense. Lol….
Tks guys!

If you talk with Doc Bob, he will tell you he put this boat together to have the safest boat on the water regarding build quality.
(Doc Bob has options to go with anyone & still chose the Cougar for the Resto/Build certainly says something!)
Ride quality Excellent
Speed is Excellent
I believe the Resto/Build started in 2009 & was on the water in 2011.
Still going strong in 2023
Pictures are current too
