Have an older 86’ Scarab, twin Stock 454’s... Both start and crank fine when cold, after warm and a quick refire while still warm, starboard engine turns over very slow. However, still starts just fine after a few cranks. Had a new starter put on port a few years, have chalked this up to a bad starter but wondering if it may be something else? Have heard of fuel pump issues on newer engines but wouldn’t think so on this one, and has been doing this for awhile.
Thanks!

So I’d start with looking at battery, cables and connections (I’ve seen wires perfect outside, inside they were ratted out) kept acting like a dead battery and finally your starter itself. I doubt you’d find issues elsewhere…but is possible.
I’d work simple to complex. Swap parts like batts and starters between engines if you can’t take and get bench tested. Seriously my buddy nearly lost his mind until I did a voltage drop test and determined it was a bad cable.
