The outboard haters will really enjoy this one, lol! We'll be seeing more and more of this type of vessel as outboard motors get more powerful and more advanced. As I said on the other forum, Intrepid should really extend that platform forward of the motors so that it can side-load and launch a matching PWC. A $3 - $4 million, 60 foot yacht really should have some sort of tender.

I’m a big fan. The soft deck lines intrepid uses finally look sharper at 60’.

Also they are typically lighter and don’t draw much water. Negating the need for a tender. Bigger intrepids can be used around sandbars just like your smaller boats.

My buddy took delivery of a brand new 40 triple engine center console (900K+++ build). Seakeeper didn't work and if you trimmed the motors the 2 outer motors would stall! They got it sorted out but the boat should have never been delivered like that.

They are proud of their product but it wasn't all that. I'd want to see a dozen of the new 60's built before I'd want one.

Outboards are the propulsion power of the future, and using V12s for big heavy boats means that V8s can be put to more important uses.

Absolutely. Intrepid pioneered the big (40' plus), fast outboard powered express yacht. When they rolled out the 475 years ago there was nothing else like it and it remained that way for a long time. Seven Marine came along and all of a sudden other manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon mainly with super-sized CC's but it seems to be really taking off since Mercury launched the V12 Verado. Concerns about access to the water at the stern have been addressed with extended platforms forward of the motors - a feature taken to the extreme by Formula on their Super Sport Crossover models. Some 50 and 60 foot outboard express catamarans are on the way as well, so it looks like boaters who want it all - size, speed, ease of operation and the ability to pull up to the beach or sandbar in a boat you can also vacation on - will have a lot to choose from.

True - I was just thinking that if the boat has the size and displacement to easily carry a PWC, then why not use it for those who'd want one to play with. The additional platform space could also come in handy for swimming, diving and just hanging out.

Outboard powered million plus dollar boats still seem like an oxymoron.
