Procharged 502 mag mpi. Mefi 3. Chased an issue all summer, and mechanic claimed failed distributor. Replaced oem distributor with msd pro billet. Plugged in to 6m box, seemed like a pretty easy install...now no spark or fuel. Fuel pump won't come on with key in on position.
Checked for spark. No spark at distributor. At a loss. The fuel pump is an aeromotive a1000. It is tied to a relay which runs with a red wire to the back of the alternator. Those wires weren't touched during install.
I'm wondering if the factory ignition control module that mounted under the cap of the factory distributor controls spark and fuel, and is somehow tied back to that relay.
Thanks.

MSD - my spark disappeared
Start simple, check the fuses. When key is turned ON, power is applied to the main power relay. The ECM applies a ground to turn pump ON for a second. When motor is cranking the ECM looks for pulses coming from the dizzy and then it turns the injectors ON
What was the original problem?

Msd 6m-2l and msd 8560.
Previous issue was down on power and breaking apart in upper rpms.
Leakdown, compression, came back normal. New plugs per tyler Crockett. New wires. Etc.
Found bent shaft on distributor.

You should be using the replacement for what you took out. Like the #8366 ?

@sb would be worth noting that a similar distributor (msd also, but can't remember the part #) was tried for testing purposes. Cap wouldn't fit. Boat has brodix heads and milled upper/lower intake. Cap was hitting intake.
