Default Going too far? New 67 foot Scout with quint 600 Verados

We knew they were coming once Mercury birthed the 600 Verados, but is the mega-outboard sport boat/center console/express cruiser trend going beyond the size envelope within which they make sense? Most boaters get that designing a 40 - 50 foot boat around the big outboards can give you a big, fast, user friendly, shallow draft boat with some very useful space in the hull where the big old, hard to access and service inboards used to live. Intrepid has been doing it with their 477 Evolution, Formula's 500SSC offers impressive performance and versatility and a host of other builders have launched +/- 50 foot super consoles sporting anywhere from four to six V12's on the transom; but does a 67 footer with enough LOA and beam to easily fit a spacious engine room below decks start to see diminishing returns with five or six motors out back? The new Scout 670 will be offered in "Luxury Sport", "Luxury Cruise" and "Luxury Fish" versions.

Just because you can.... Doesn't mean you should.

Other than "Look AT Me Look At Me" what is it really good for? And it does not have to be 67 feet for me to ask this question.

3000 total hp and two speed transmissions will make this boat rock. Far more room inside the boat instead of big diesels. Easier to service. I think it is a great package. Bonus being it looks cool as heck.

maybe one of the motors is on a quick-release mount and you just ride it in to shore.
