Pffftt...5 years, big whup. Need the private sector to impose additional punishment. Really burns me, money comes really hard to many of us, I bust my ass 6-7 days a week to be in this hobby and some scumbag pulls this crap.

Prosecutors said they stole 600 motors but the indictment was for 20 motors, hence the light sentences: The goofy part is they valued the thefts at 9.5 to 25 million. 600 motors at 10mm is 16.6K each, at 25MM is $41.6 each. Seems like sloppy math/bad reporting there. These guys weren't out stealing Evinrude 2 strokes. The case was about false exporting/serial numbers not the actual thefts/burglary.
The indictment — built upon allegedly falsified records along with video surveillance footage — says that Nadia and Carlos Ledesma received at least 20 stolen outboard engines from Osmani Valdivia and others and illegally shipped them to Mexico
