Default Revolution 14.6x19P vs 3-B something?

Just discussing options
Current Props are 4-blade Revolution 14.6x19P both Left and Right hand, twin OB
Looked the props up and these are over $1K each and are stainless steel

Looking at others like Enertia ECO 3-blade 15x21 are X7 alloy and findings say they are 30% stronger then SS

Also looked at Marage + and Hill Marine

Thinking that the larger the diameter the less drag and more bow lift. Don't see needing all the stern lift from a 4-blade. More docking control with larger diameter and more pitch

Boat is a Chaparrel 280 OSX with twin 250 Mercs
Docking control is bad but manageable. Get more pitch and larger diameter then should get more thrust when prop is engaged

Couple of points: The blade area on a Rev 4 prop is MASSIVE. It is significantly more than nearly all 3 blade props. I don't feel the Rev 4 is necessarily a stern lifting prop, but rather with its large blade area (holding power) and long tube it makes it very responsive to trip inputs. Each blade on a Rev 4 is over 28.5 sq in of surface area, compared to a comparable 3 blade which is about 23 sq. in of blade area each.

In short the only advantage I can see by switching to a 3 blade would be more top end speed.
