Default Need Asistance Please

Fish Natique mercruiser 454

all has been good with engine
changed intake gasket ( for maintenance reasons )
Ran it on the hose engine died and noticed I had water in the oil, already found the problem # two gasket has slipped when I put it in and water got straight into the engine. I cut it off immediately
pulled plugs and it spins and all seems well
I tooled of the intake and rinsed everything down ( with diesel ) into the oil pan ..the problem is I cannot get to my drain plug so I have to suck it out. The water oil mix is so thick that I can’t suck it out not even with an electric pump

any suggestions and is it normal to be so thick it won’t suck out ?

If your trying to suck it out by using the thin tube down the dipstick tube, try a piece of 3/8 gas line. Connect the gas line with hose clamp to top of tube and direct to pump. The dipstick tube goes down deep enough to get most the oil

You need to get one of these for your application .

You should have a drain plug on bottom of pan pan. It might be a pain to get to. . you need to get to it.This is where you become a contortionist.

Raise trailer up , take out drain plug on transom , put a big piece of cardboard, sheet, old towels or something where you are working it's easy to make a mess quick, along with a container /catch pan big enough to catch the pour once you remove oil pan drain plug. Remove your filler caps on valve covers and PCV valves. You can clean bilge out with purple power etc. Dispose of your mess properly.

contortionist - someone who can twist their body into shapes and positions that normal people cannot .

Welcome to inboard marine ownership.

I have an 8 quart hand pump thru dipstick deal. It has sucked up oil with lots of water thru engine’s dipsticks Always quicker when oil is heated up, but..,,,,

It gets used 20-30 times or more a season for past 20 yrs.

it is so thick it won’t suck out … turning engine over with intake off and the pump isn’t even pulling anything through it …

tried it . However the mixture is so thick it won’t pull up … even turning engine over ( without spark or fuel ) the oil pump will not pull it up — still need to put intake back on once gaskets get here 2 morrow . I’m thinking about starting it and see with engine running that it pulls up the mayo and thin oil I pour in ….

I do know I got a lot of it out by removing dip stick tube
pouring diesel and thin oil and and it seem like it overflows and pushes out most of the bad stuff out of the dip stick tube entry hole

i think pump is full of that crap mas manual turn over is not pulling it up .. hopefully running it will

maybe a bad gamble

Maybe try installing an electric personal space heater inside the engine bay facing the oil pan. That should heat up the oil to thin it out.

Get a heat magnet - they operate at about 250+ degrees, stick to the pan and purpose built to heat an engine....when you are finally finished, just pull it off
