Default Crusader 454

Hello,

I have a 454 crusader, block, heads and intake manifold only. I am going to tare it down and rebuild and convert to raw water with flush kit. My question is, can I use my bell housing from a gen4 454 mercruiser with b/w transmissions? essentially converting the engine from a inboard to I/O. Wondering if I can use different exhaust manifolds and other mercruiser components. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the starter going to be in the same place ? meaning are they both upper rear mount now with the flywheel ring gear on the back side
