I have a low hour 555 i built a few years back. Im swapping it from my 1998 25 outlaw to my new boat a 2000 fountain fever 29. The fountain has a 500efi currently. My 555 is 10:1, AFR 305 with cnc option. Cam is 240/248 .612 .635. CMI headers will be used i believe they are e tops. It currently has a hp500 intake and a QF1000 carb. Im looking for any possibility to use the 500efi setup or modify it and be able to support this motor. It seems like the 500efi intake is hard to use at these power levels. Is there any other recommendations for efi otherwise. It would be nice to swap the motors and plug and play obviously a tune would be needed. I am also considering a little more cam or at least 1.8 rockers and bigger oil pan before the swap. Thanks

I dont have a plan on the tuner yet just debating my efi system. I am in Illinois about 60 miles south of Chicago. I know Ateco does some tuning north of me. Which TB efi system would you recommend for the 555. If i did use a holley system it would be a self learning system.

I built a pair of 540's years back with Brad Smith, custom grind double swap hyd roller custom pistons AFR 305 heads with the 500 EFI intakes, they made 625 hp on the dyno, but the intake is very restrictive, when it hits the wall it wont flow any more no matter how hard you spin it...........what is your hp goal ?

Thats what i been reading on the 500efi intake ive been asking around about options to use it whether its ported or new upper. Doesn't seem like there are great options for it. With my current setup for the 555 i was hoping around 700hp. I called cam motion today and asked there opinion on the current cam. They said they wouldn't do much different maybe a 1.8 rocker on intake to get around. 650 lift.
