Those transmissions weren’t around long An old post from a long way back mentioned that they closed up shop in the mid 90s. The post also mentioned reaching out to Huber Marine for possible information.

Huber Marine

Best of luck!

Huber Marine, used to be able to work on them. I put a pair in my 1984 Excalibur Hawk behind a pair of 625 HP Big Blocks.

Thank you, I'll reach out to Huber. BAM mentioned he had a couple at his shop as well.

There was a couple different tailstocks...some to fit into TRS or something? Def a Merc drive. Maybe SSM3.

I'm hoping seals are commonly available, and I can make gaskets worst case.

Thanks again,

Art

Mine used the tailstock off the Borg Warner C71 transmissions that I had in the Boat.

Good info, thank you.

What model were/are the Doug Nash?

How much tq were they rated for?

I've seen other Hydrosmooth model #s... like 800 etc. Never anything like the model number I have.

Original owner said they would handle 750hp. That may have been an extrapolated number from the max 800ft lbs, to his intended HP RPM. Something like that.

Thanks again for a piece of the rare puzzle.
