Default Climbing RPM and high GPH

Hello, my 2007 Sea Ray 36DB has Mercruiser 8.1 496 MAG with DTS.
I just replaced the port fuel pump assembly.
At neutral (700rpm), the Smartcraft shows that this port engine is using 1.7 gph of gas, the starboard is at 1.2 gph.
When I engage to idle speed, the port rpm climbs slowly on its own from 700 to over 1000rpm and more, while the other engine remains at 700rpm.
Any advise or comment would be appreciated.
