Default Restoring an Apache Renegade

I really like the idea of restoring an Apache. After looking at Cigarettes, Formulas, Donzis, all the major names in powerboats I keep coming back to this idea. I like the Apache history and build philosophy as well as having a unique boat at Lake of the Ozarks. After talking with some folks I am thinking it would take 300k to 400k to make it like new. What I am afraid of is that I will be so upside down on it that I would just have to keep it because of losing so much on a resale. I can’t imagine that anyone would pay 400k to 500k on a boat that is practically new but is technically a 23 year old boat. What do you guys think?

Why do you think Renegade would need 300-400k spent on it?? All Inventory | Performance Boat Center

My $0.02 - Simple math - it hasn't sold at $160K... adding another $300-$400K isn't gong to see a positive ROI at a future point of sale,......The 47 and 41 Apaches (Renegade is a 42) have a provenance and a following like a Ferrari but it will never translate to investment dollars that will appreciate like the car world.

It's a cool beast just the same

It is definitely a real Apache. It's a one off 41 that they used a modified 36 raised deck on.
BTW, it sold

There is a reason it took two years to sell, just saying. I have a 41 and the Renegade boat looked nothing like it. Mine was built in Hollywood, Florida from Mark McManus. Did Bob build this boat?

47 Spirit of Apache is hands down the baddest Apache out there, fully sorted/rebuilt and it took years to sell. Why? Limited audience on old boats, 6 pack interiors and tough to finance/insure.

Renegade was pulled from a damned 47 mold, 42 foot with a 1ft notch, the deck came from the 36 and 28 top deck mold. it was a APH hin. Bobby said he made a couple of them.
