Any New Colorado/Canyon or Grand Cherokee owners here?

So after 10yrs and 210,000 miles on my beloved 2010 Avalanche i think its time to let her go
The rust is starting to get bad on the lower rockers and i think i should get rid of it while it still looks half way decent! This has been by far the most dependable truck ive ever had! Other than regular maint, I've never had one single problem with it.
So im torn between getting a new 2023 Colorado/Canyon
Or getting a certified used Grand Chrokee trailhawk with the 5.7V8
So wondering is anyone has either the Colorado or Canyon and how they like it...Im leaning more to the GMC cause the AT4 has a better interior....
Or if you happen to have a Grand Cherokee with the V8 how you like that and if you've had any issues with it. (i know the water pumps are prone to going out on the stock motors) other then that i haven't heard much neg about them.....looking for first hand knowledge.

My Dad has a new Canyon and I've driven it a couple times. Nice enough truck but I don't think I could get used to the size after 40 + years of owning/driving full-size trucks. I own a 2016 JK as a third vehicle and that is enough to steer me away from any other FCA product. Wife looked at both the old style and redesigned Grand Cherokees in '22 and what you get for what they cost isn't justified.

Thats kinda what im afarid of.....i had full size trucks my entire life.....i had an S-10 blazer for like 2months and got rid of it and got my crewcab dually.. ever since then ive been bouncing around between 2500 burbans, 4-dr tahoes and an ex cab 1500 silverado or two in the mix until this Avalanche which has been the perfect truck for me for the last 10yrs. If they were still making them i would buy another one!
But on the flip side wife and i did go look and sit in the new colorado yesterday...its actually not that far off from my Avalanche....if you compare the overall size of the trucks the colorado is only 8" shorter length wise and 5" shorter width wise...its actually taller then my Avy by over 2"
Wife said the interior was "nice" but nothing fancy...that's why i want her to go check out the AT4 GMC Canyon...i think that one she would like a lot better...she could actually care less about the outside of the truck
Oh and the GC i'm contemplating is a 21' (before the redesign) cause i still want to be able to use my HP tuners on it

I'm not shopping at the moment, but I have looked at the Canyon Denali with the 2.8L "baby" Duramax. They put out an impressive amount of torque for an I4. It's kind of like a smarter 4BT Cummins, to a point. There are tuning and deleting options out there for them too.
I currently split daily driving duties between a 6.2L V8 F150 platinum and a beater Lexus ES350 that my Dad left to me. I could see myself in the Duramax Canyon Denali as a nice mix of the two. But right now I still enjoy the V8 F150 too much. It has 434HP and 411 lb.ft./tq before the few bolt-ons installed.

My buddy had a Duramax Colorado.........had to buy the diesel because it was a "forever" truck. 40K miles later he bought a 2500 Duramax Crew Cab,.....again the diesel because it was a "forever truck"
60K miles later the fuel costs, the stiff ride and idiot lights on the dash were annoying him so he traded for a 1500 Denali 5.3 gas motor.
The Canyon/Colorado is fine but the price is up there and the bed is tiny. I like them much better than the Ford Ranger,

yeah the Colorado's and Canyons only come in a turbo 4-banger now...no other engine options right now or for 24 from what im hearing...the diesel was last used in the last gen models...not these new ones.....but yeah the pricing for these is stupid for a small truck.

Wally if you decide on a new Canyon/Colorado, order one and let me know so I can have it tagged for the red carpet treatment.
if you don't mind a plain jane full size, I spec'd out a new 3500 crew cab WT 4wd diesel using my corporate discount and it was right at $60k with a few options (aluminum wheels, power package, roll-up hardcover, etc). From an investment standpoint, pretty "cheap" for a 1 ton diesel with great resale.
Knot, let me guess that your radiator leaked in the JK? Daily drove a '15 JKUR Hard Rock edition when I was management at Ford Motor Company and it was super reliable AFTER I went through 2 stock radiators and put a aftermarket full aluminum one in it 😂 Traded it in with just shy of 200k on it after a couple years.

Been lucky so far on the rad and many of the other common issues (oil cooler, cylinder head, etc.). It does go thru wheel speed sensors and front brake lines like poo thru a goose. I solved the front brake line swelling issue with Crown Performance stainless lines. Being in IL I'm constantly chasing undercarriage/tub rust as well with POR-15 in places it shouldn't be rusting. Also occasionally just refuses to start for no apparent reason. No codes. Wait a few minutes then it will fire.
I really like his interior and options. I also sprayed under it with PB Blaster Surface Shield when he got it so he doesn't have any rust issues so far. Im gonna have to let him know to keep an eye out on his brake lines now

Im checking out a 21 Limited-X tomorrow with the 5.7 hemi since none of the dealers want to even budge lower then sticker around here....some still have "market adjustments" of $1500 over sticker on them too! Funny how if you look online and move farther away from the big city you start seeing dealers with $1000-1500 dealer discounts already posted. I got one dealer to get me a quote for a GMC AT4 for $1850 under sticker...but the wife wont drive 4hrs to get it
Took it to a local dealer to try and match it and he said "Go buy that one" ..........OK SEE YA!
