Well i hope i don't regret this, but i picked this one up last night. Got it for $5138 under MSRP.
A year ago they had a $1700 "market adjustment" over the msrp and wouldnt even think about budging
My 2010 Avalanche has honestly been the most dependable truck ive ever had...other than some rust issues it always started and never left me stranded. But as of late the trans has been having a flaring issue going into 3rd on hard acceleration. And the rear axle i think the limited slip is about to explode....had it lock up on me twice this week...would only unlock if i took a slow left turn...then it would go back to normal. Figured it was time after 225K miles
Only time will tell with this new one now
Its wild how this little 2.7L 4 banger has almost as much HP and more torque and towing capacity then my Avy did!

Chevy has major transmission issues from around 2014 on up. My 2020 Silverado had the trans. rebuilt twice by 18k miles and the same drivability issues started 10k miles later. Another worker had their truck at the dealer for 1st oil change at 6k miles and the tech. couldn't get it to go into reverse to get it off the lift, plugged a new transmission into it. The rear engine vette has 17 TSB's for it's junk transmission.
I HIGHLY recommend researching it and forget Ford, Farley noted a couple of years ago "we will have quality control issues until the end of the decade."

They had issues starting with the 6spd trannies....those had torque converter issues. I turned the slippage that GM had on the trans off using HP tuners at around 100K and the truck ran perfect up until basically the 225K i got rid of it with.
I heard a lot of the issues with the 8spds were from the trans fluid they were using....many people reported that doing a complete flush solved their issues from what i read on the forums...but just like any mechanical thing...its just hit or miss sometimes. Im hopping this new generation 8pd they have in this truck has resolved all/most of the issues...and when the 3yr warranty is up i'll be using my HP tuners to tune this one as well
About the only thing I'll be changing anytime soon is a deeper pan on the trans to hold more fluid and better cooling once someone makes a pan for it....
