Default Looking for more speed.

Looking to get more speed out of my 1992 24' Challenger. It has a 525hp 496 with a 1.36 bravo. Currently has run a best of 79.6 with a 23p 3 blade. The drive sits pretty low and I was thinking of adding a -2 lower, I'm looking for some insight on that or anything else that could help before I drop more power in it. I'll snap a pic of the transom shortly, has a small pad and fixed tabs.

5400 rpm, that was on basically no fuel and just me in the boat. normally runs around 75 with half a tank and two people. Going to pull the silent choice off and new motor will have aluminum heads to save some weight.

I dont know your hull, but Id do some measuring before throwing parts at it. where is the prop shaft in reference to the bottom of the pad, some hulls just run out of gas at certain mph

I was thinking about this, If I would be better off with a 1.5 I would definitely switch that out.

Great suggestion, one of the first things I would try.

most go down to a 1.36 when they run out of prop and are on the limiter, it takes bigger power to pull a 1.36
