So whats the trick to getting to the top mounting stud the nut came off, the 5 inch tube that carries all the wires and cables is just underneath it

I took ratcheting box wrench, a piece of aluminum length, secured the 2 together with some hose clamps and bent it enough to get in the hole and used it as an extension.

I took the the handle off then removed the lower stud, pulled the lower panel out far enough to get a lock washer and nut on the top stud, then reinstalled the lower stud in the handle, Im going to try your ratchet wrench extension thingy to tighten the top nut.

its all done, I got the washer and nut on by going in between the two panels before installing the bottom stud and nut.........what a PITA
