Default 2000 33 avs dpx to bravo

I’m converting a 33 avs with dpx drives to bravo wondering if staggering the plywood in the transom would be okay or should I have the whole transom Redone. Got a few opinions some shops said that they would cut out the whole transom and some said that they would just fill the hole and stagger the second sheet. Twin 600hp 540s

Biting the bullet, huh? I thought you were having some gear sets made?

My advice would be do the whole transom and then you know exactly what you have.

What was wrong with the DPX drives? Did you blow them and can't be rebuilt? You're probably going to lose a little performance.

Speaking for the OP, DPX gear sets have gotten all but impossible to find, coupled with the fact that there are only a handful of people you could trust that are willing to work on these (Innovation being #1), it becomes a difficult proposition. Yes, there will undoubtedly be some performance loss. It becomes a completely different boat with Bravos
