Default Dry exhaust water dumps

Hello All,
I not sure what size hose is recommend for the exhaust dry pipe dumps. I need to buy some dump fitting just not sure if they should be 1 inch or 3/4 hose size to the dumps.
Thanks
Jeff

I always thought 1" was standard, I've never seen 3/4" used for dumping

Doesn’t really matter what size depends on what it does to the water pressure.

Right. And if pressure drops too low, you can add restrictors to the through hull dump fittings.

25 at WOT is typically the maximum you want

Different setups will cause different pressures, ie transom pickup vs lower unit, crossover vs circulation pump

My old 525 manual stated 40psi is fine.. seems really high but what do I know!

Hey Jeff,Most dry exhaust dump setups typically use 1-inch hose, but it can depend on your specific manifold or riser setup. If you’re unsure, check the OD of the dump fitting on the pipe, it’ll usually match up with the 1” hose. Some smaller systems use 3/4”, but 1” is more common for better flow and less backpressure.
