I keep seeing at least one guy on facebook claiming that the 99 and older bravo gears are stronger than the 2000 and newer. When I started learning to rebuild drives, everything I have read said that the newer thick floor upper gears were stronger and the fix to the older upper issues. I have read nothing that has said that the lower gears are different years. Is this internet BS or is there factual information here? I have googled this and have not found anything saying this, what I have found actually backs up the newer thick uppers being stronger. I just built a pair of uppers with thick floor gears that I have been thinking were stronger than my older pair of drives, maybe I am incorrect? I am here to learn either way

The problem with the pre 2000 gears is that they would blow the floors out of the gears, if you’re good on the sticks, you may not have a problem with this
I haven’t heard any real issues with the newer( X style) gears
