Not sure why one would invest that kind of time and effort in mouse-motor power. Don't get me wrong, I really LOVE the 5.0 Coyote engine, I have one in my truck and it's awesome...but one has to wonder what that boat came with originally?

It would have been a BBC, most likely 502Mag but could have been another mere.

I think the point is he did something way different and ran a speed that was much better than I think any SONIC has ran. Sometimes different is fun,,,,

if you watch the high horsepower car stuff (at least of up to say 1,500hp) everyone is running coyotes cause they make amazing power easy and are very reliable versus what an old school BBC does.

The Coyote engine is an awesome platform. You can make high power and be reliable with it. Not to mention it has to drop some weight.
