Default 500EFI flame arresters

My 500EFI motors have K&N filters on them now and are pretty bad shape, what are some good options for replacements?

Looks like a K&N filter insert.

Thanks…seems like I read someone did a few dyno pulls years ago and found the K&N filters very restrictive, You would think someone would make a less restrictive one, more like a flame arrester and not a filter, there’s not much dust out on the water

Eddie Young rebuilt a motor for me and took the filter particulate out and welded in a metal mesh on a blown 540, looked cool as ****!

That AZSM FL is a GOOD piece, on a stock 500 I see 6 to 10 hp gain on dyno taking the stock FA off, on a modded one its much greater. I dont remember the difference off top of my head but if memory serves me correct on a 620 hp modded 500 efi the azsm posed very little hp drop, Smitty

That is the same thing we seen here on the dyno, amazing really but doubt you will notice in a boat.
