It appears the have re-designed this hose.
Has anyone installed one of these? Just curious how well it went in, can it be done with the motor in?
I installed new ones (old style) when I rebuilt my transom assemblies, but one looks like the SB side is collapsing causing low water pressure and higher than normal temp. I can't remember if they were OEM MerCruiser or aftermarket. (lesson learned if not) I'll have to pull them apart to replace.
PS... shout out to Jeff32, I found a thread from 2007 where he had a similar problem with the hose collapsing that lead me to look under the drives with a flashlight.

Does that flange go on the "wet" side of the gimbal housing and squeeze the rubber bushing to tighten it into the space creating a waterproof seal?
I'm trying to figure out what holds the plastic pipe in the gimbal housing and seals it.

I did this on my drive assembly last winter, during my engine rebuild. It all went well enough, but I seem to remember getting the hose through the hole in the transom plate was a significant PITA, and you'll need a tool to tighten up the "nut" that holds the hose in place.
Thanks. Brad.
