I figured someone would have already started a thread about it. "Miami Vice 85" has been announced featuring some young actors and supposed to be set in mid 1980's Miami with a storyline set on the "Brothers Keeper" episodes. Would be cool if it turned out to be a decent movie. They're saying it will be shot in IMAX. Supposed to be directed by the same guy who did "Top Gun Maverick" a few years ago which I kinda liked. He also directed "F1", I haven't seen it yet. What's your thoughts? I want to be optimistic but I'm old now and hate just about every movie I see

It wouldn't be difficult to be better than the first Miami Vice movie. That one sucked, big time!

Yeah, the Colin Farrell one pretty much sucked the big one, IMHO. Only good thing was the chick that played Gina Callabrese...the scene where she shot the White Supremacist almost made up for the rest of the film's lacking.

So yeah...hopeful they make a good film...I have never heard of the actors planned for the lead roles...but doesn't mean anything; I haven't been to a movie in 10 years.

Miami Vice 2
I kinda liked it. Linkin Park music and Plenty of HP boat scenes with the cigs and MTI, My knees get weak from beautiful Asian women….This scene Colin’s little head talking. Yup I would do something stupid like that.

yeah, I didn’t mind it at all. I just think the hype for it let a lot of people down but over all, decent movie.

i think it’s pretty funny people hated that movie but loved the series. Jeeezus the series was cheesy AF!!! lol.

Oddly enough I started streaming season 1 a week ago. I’m through about 5 episodes. I can’t go any more it’s terrible and definitely cheesy. lol, I expected more. I just decided to stream because of all the hype over the years and hearing about it but I wasn’t around when it came out.

the problem I see is that a lot of these shows or original movies capture a time and feel that works in the moment. the following movies or recreations dont have that and the original feel is lost. not saying that about this up coming movie but that happens alot. imagine trying to make a sequel to "Blazing Saddles" or other classics. heck even Smokey and the Bandit II and III sucked compared the first one.

One of the best shots in the movie was the directors cut boat race opening.
and it ended up on the floor during release.
