Default Place to stay in Miami??

Considering going to the Miami Boat Show and I'm looking for recommendations on a place to stay. Since I have a free nite at any Hyatt I was contemplating the Hyatt downtown. Is this location convienent to the show? Never been so the wife an I thought it might be a nice weekend getaway and fun to check out all the new hardware and the clubs on South Beach.(maybe grab a ride on a new Cig or OL! - any inside suggestions on the best way to snag demo rides would be GREATLY appreciated.... without actually writing a six figure check??!)

Don't stay in Miami, and whatever you do don't leave your boat there unless you have it insured for twice its value!!!!!

We are staying at the Riande.... prices have doubled since I made reservations.... now $200/night, but close to the convention center and SoBe.

The boat will be staying in winter storage! Everything decent seems to be in the $200+ per nite range. That's why I was planning to use my free nite at the Hyatt. Just was wondering if it was local to the convention center/ marina and the action.

The Hyatt in downtown is very nice and allowing for traffic itwould take anywhere from 10-20 minutes depending on traffic.

If you can, try and stay in Miami Beach since it would be much closer to the convention center and closer to a lot of the night life.

If you need detailed info. feel free and call me at home tonight

Miami is NOT as bad as people make it seem. It's the same as any other big city ..good places, bad places, good people, bad people etc....

Miami is best seen on the Travel Channel.

Do NOT stay at the RITZ PLAZA...That place sucks!

Just my 0.02
