Would you believe that in the "toy section" they are selling radio controlled Pier 57 Fountain race boats? I am in shock. Who is their Marketing agent? Maybe they are on to something. Why don't more boat manufacturers jump on this band wagon. It is probably a great idea.

I bought one at Meyer's in about a year ago. It came with a trailer and a semi. It was neat and it was yellow and big. Everybody asks where I got it. It was not that expensive compared to the ones in the magazines. The Original San Francisco Toy Co. made small radio controlled boats. They had an Apache, a Donzi, an Eliminator, and a Formula that they produced. But the main thing is cost. Keeping them simple and affordable so a kid can play with them.

I got the smaller Fountain (no trailer, jet drives instead of propeller) at FAO Schwartz in the fall. Also got one of those tiny ones Battle Cry is talking about. It kind of looked like the "Dramamine" Fountain race boat, but without a true beak. I've also seen a radio control Cigarette Tiger that's a pretty good likeness.
